From October 4 to 6, the ISSP Gallery team will participate in the ArtVilnius’24 contemporary art fair with the exhibition ‘Marmoleum Real 2mm’ by Zane Priede!
ArtVilnius’24 presents exceptional works of art and promotes creativity, cultural dialogue, and international cooperation. The programme of the fair is complemented by an education programme of discussions, lectures, presentations of art publications, and excursions with art critics.
The still lifes created in the studio of Zane Priede are based on the aesthetics of the 90s. The photographs depict objects and materials typical of that time, which in contact with people's emotional experiences form a landscape of material memories. In her compositions, memories of the past are transposed into present-day scenographies, narrating through artistic practice the interaction between time and things. Whereas the materiality of objects helps shape our shared world and the experiences through which we build relationships with our environment and each other.
Zane Priede (1990) is a professional photographer whose work features imaginary and surreal scenes created with everyday objects. Graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven. Zane Priede's deep passion for architecture and design is evident in her visual approach, which involves constructing scenes with small-scale objects.

Rīgas vasaras kultūras programmas ietvaros no 15. līdz 20. augustam katram Rīgas iedzīvotājam un viesim būs iespēja iepazīt fotoaparāta uzbūves principus interaktīvā vides objektā "Melnais kubs – Camera Obscura" Ziedoņdārzā. Paralēli vides objektam notiks analogās fotogrāfijas meistardarbnīcas. Aicināti piedalīties gan lieli, gan mazi interesenti!
Šīs vasaras pēdējā ISSP Radošā meistarklase – "Apzināts radošums. Fotogrāfija kā klātesamības prakse” ar mākslinieci Ivetu Gabaliņu – notiks 25.-27. augustā Līču skolā. Meistarklases laikā dalībniekiem būs iepsēja attīstīt savu radošo domāšanu un potenciālu, izmantojot fotogrāfijā balstītus pašizziņas rīkus un uzdevumus. Vēl ir dažas brīvas vietas!
No 21. jūlija līdz 7. septembrim ISSP Galerijā is skatāma jauno mediju mākslinieka Jurģa Petera personālizstāde “Sintētiskā klātbūtne”, kas aplūko cilvēka un tehnoloģiju attiecību mijiedarbi, reflektējot par ticību mākslīgā intelekta spējai glābt cilvēci un pasauli. Izstādes atklāšana notiks 20. jūlijā plkst. 18.00.
From July 21 to September 7, the ISSP Gallery will host the solo exhibition Synthetic Presence by new media artist Jurģis Peters, which explores the interaction between humans and technology, reflecting on the belief in the ability of artificial intelligence to save humanity and the world. The exhibition will open on July 20 at 6 PM.
Wednesday, June 28 at 7:30 PM at Bolderāja ISSP artist-in-residence Rujuta Rao and kuš! artist-in-residence Sui Lam invites to an evening of work where they will present the projects they have been working on during their residency in Riga this June. Free entrance.
No 30. jūnija līdz 21. jūlijam Berga Bazārā, Elizabetes ielā 87, ir skatāma izstāde “Tulkojums netika atrasts”, kurā sevi piesaka septiņi jaunie fotogrāfi, ISSP Skolas divu gadu izglītības programmas “Attīstot fotogrāfijas valodu” 2023. gada absolventi. No 12. maija līdz 13. jūlijam ISSP Galerijā ir skatāma Rīgas Fotogrāfijas biennāles – NEXT 2023 apbalvojuma “Meklējam jauno fotogrāfijā!” laureātes, lietuviešu mākslinieces Ievas Baltadonītes izstāde “Izrautie”. Atklāšana notiks 11. maijā plkst. 18.00, bet plkst. 19.00 sekos piecu apbalvojumam pieteikto fotogrāfu darbu prezentācijas.
From May 12 to July 13, the ISSP Gallery is hosting Uprooted, an exhibition of the Riga Photography Biennial - NEXT 2023 award "Seeking the Latest in Photography!" winner, Lithuanian artist Ieva Baltaduonytė. The opening will take place on May 11 at 18:00, followed by presentations of works by the five photographers shortlisted for the award at 19:00.
