Cobertura Photo (Spain), ISSP (Latvia), Officine Fotografiche Roma (Italy), and Fotofestiwal (Poland) invite 12 Europe-based photographers/visual artists to apply to take part in the HERITAGE LENS project in 2025 - 2026!
Heritage Lens presents a comprehensive approach to addressing the intersection of cultural heritage, artistic expression, and the resilience of different aspects of cultural heritage against climate change. The project aims to raise awareness about the growing impact of climate change on European cultural heritage and catalyze a collective response through artistic expression. The project uses photography to illuminate the intricate relationship between climate change and heritage, emphasizing the fundamental role of tangible and intangible elements.
The primary focus of the project is the enhancement of interdisciplinary collaborations and knowledge exchange among photographers, experts, and activists. The project will facilitate the transnational creation and circulation of artistic works through a collaborative photographic exploration by 12 emerging European photographers from diverse regions.
The project is coordinated by leading photography centers from Spain, Italy, Latvia, and Poland and is funded by the EU Creative Europe Culture programme.
Who should apply?
- Emerging photographers;
- Residents of an EU member country or other Creative - Europe-eligible country;
- Eager to develop their project within the timeline of the project, and to participate in a collaborative creative process;
- Ready to benefit from the international network, mentoring, and exposure opportunities;
- Can commit to take part in 3 in-person workshops in Spain, Latvia, and Poland;
- Submit a well-developed project idea
What do we offer?
- An opportunity to establish interdisciplinary connections;

- Grant of €1,000 per artist;

On Wednesday, 29th May at 19.00 at Bolderāja we invite you to meet current ISSP artists in residence Aga Młyńczak and Anastasiia Nurullina, who will talk about their art practice and what they have been working on during their residency in Riga in the past month!
ISSP Skolas 1. kursa studenti laikā no 21. līdz 30. maijam rīkos performatīvu foto izstādi “Pielaiko laulību”, kuras ietvaros Rīgā, Avotu ielā 34, visiem interesentiem būs iespēja “pielaikot laulību”, fotogrāfējoties tradicionālajā laulību simbolā – baltajā kāzu kleitā. Atklāšanas pasākums notiks 21.maijā plkst.18.00!
No 17. maija – 27. jūnijam ISSP Galerijā Rīgas Fotogrāfijas biennāles ietvaros būs skatāma izstāde “Mūsdienu fotogrāfijas vēstures I“, kurā atspoguļotas vairāku mākslinieku versijas un interpretācijas par vietējās fotogrāfijas vēstures rakstīšanas procesiem. Izstādes atklāšana notiks 16. maijā plkst. 18.00.
From May 17 to June 27, the exhibition "Contemporary Histories of Photography I" launches a two-part exhibition series at the ISSP Gallery as part of the Riga Photography Biennial, bringing together several artists' perspectives and interpretations on the process of writing a local history of photography. The opening of the exhibition will take place on May 16 at 18.00.
2024. gada vasarā ISSP aicina uz četrām radošajām fotogrāfijas darbnīcām Latvijas laukos! ISSP radošās fotogrāfijas darbnīcas/ plenēri ir iespēja iedvesmoties, eksperimentēt, paplašināt savu māksliniecisko rokrakstu un attīstīt izpratni par fotogrāfiju, piedzīvojot koncentrētu radošo procesu kopā ar lieliskajiem Latvijas un starptautiskiem pasniedzējiem. Laikā no jūnija līdz augusta beigām norisināsies četras radošās darbnīcas dažādās īpaši izvēlētejās lokācijās Latvijas novados.
Lai tuvāk iepazītu Rūtas Kalmukas izstādē "Saiknes" aplūkotās tēmas, ISSP ielūdz uz ģimeņu dienu, kas aptver visa veida ģimenes un cilvēkus, ar kuriem ir vēlme būt kopā un iesaistīties radošās aktivitātēs. Tā būs iespēja piedalīties fotodarbnīcā ar izstādes fotogrāfi Rūtu Kalmuku un mākslinieci Līvu Veiguri, veidojot paliekošus tuvinieku portretus ar fotokameru.
Meet kuš! resident Luise Schaller and ISSP resident Beatrice Ventura on Wednesday, April 24 at Bolderaja! They will talk about their art and practices in the field of comics and photography.

Piesakies profesionālajai meistarklasei, kurā pieredzējusi pārtikas un produktu fotogrāfe Anastasija Nurullina sniegs vispārēju ieskatu par ēdienu fotografēšanas specifiku un darba gaitu, lai palīdzētu dalībniekiem radīt savu personīgo pieeju ēdienu un dažādu pārtikas produktu fotogafēšanai! Meistarklases sāksies ar ieskatu iespējamos stila virzienos un tehniskajos pamatprincipos pārtikas un ēdamu priekšmetu fotografēšanā, iedvesmojoties no Annas un citu izcilu fotogrāfu darbu izlases.
Atvērta pieteikšanās vasaras radošās fotogrāfijas dienas nometnei jauniešiem “Fotogrāfija un kustība”, kas norisināsies augustā ISSP telpās Berga bazārā Rīgā. Nometne veidotas kā radošs un izglītojošs piedzīvojums jaunajiem fotogrāfijas interesentiem vecumā no 11 līdz 15 gadiem. Nometnes laikā dalībnieki tiks iepazīstināti ar dažādām fotogrāfijas un mākslas tehnikām un to mijiedarbību, kā arī caur interaktīvu un aizraujošu programmu attīstīs radošumu, kritiskās analīzes spējas un izteiksmes brīvību.
Rūtas Kalmukas izstādi “Saiknes” papildinās darba burtnīca, ko dizainere Rūta Jumīte radījusi īpaši jaunajai izstādes auditorijai. Burtnīca veicina bērnu interesi par izstādes konceptiem un mākslas darbiem, kā arī ļaujot radīt savu interpretāciju.
ISSP Skola aicina apgūt fotogrāfiskās domāšanas pamatus un kameras tehniskās iespējas intensīvā divu mēnešu kursā “Ievads fotogrāfijā”, kas sāksies 4. aprīlī un paredzēts dalībniekiem bez (vai arī ar nelielām) priekšzināšanām.
We are happy to announce the five artists we invited to join the FUTURES platform this year – Agate Tūna (LV), Gedvile Tamosiunaite (LT), Katya Lesiv (UA), Klaus Leo Richter (AT/LT), Ruudu Ulas (EE). Their projects mirror the concerns and reflections of a context of wars and the rise of digital realities. We believe these five artists will contribute to the FUTURES artistic community with the diversity of their approaches, demonstrating the role of the artist in a changing and challenging world.
