Until December 27, the ISSP Gallery presents two artworks by Japanese-born Swedish artist Mako Ishizuka who uses synthesis of text and visual conception in her art. “After-Ripening & Corruption”, which is a “map of thoughts” drawn on the gallery’s window, revolves around the cultural and language translations in the lives of people who live on the move. While in her installation “Bookshelf” the artist contemplates on the distances created by age, culture and values. Ishizuka is one of the participants of the International Literature Festival “Prose Readings 2019” and a resident at the ISSP Riga Residency.
