ISSP Riga Residency is open for applications!

Exciting news! Applications are now open for the ISSP Riga Residency 2025 (May–December)!

ISSP Riga Residency provides an opportunity for concentrated work on personal research or photography/art projects informed by interaction with Riga and its residents or much-needed time to rethink and complete ongoing work. We welcome photographers and artists interested in researching and exploring the local social and cultural context and connecting to the ISSP platform of activities and other contemporary art and culture actors in Latvia.

What we offer:

  • free of charge stay in a beautiful centrally-located residency apartment in Riga,
  • compensation of travel costs up to 200 eur,
  • access to the ISSP local network and introduction to Riga's art and contemporary culture scene,
  • support in your research and project implementation,
  • regular contact with a friendly local coordinator,
  • a possibility to use the library, printer, and extra equipment at the ISSP premises,
  • a possibility to meet with the local community at an artist talk, to organise a pop-up exhibition, a small workshop, or other events as mutually agreed.
  • an official invitation letter that you can use to apply for extra funding.

In 2025, the residency programme will be run in collaboration with two Latvian contemporary culture organisations - kuš! komikss and TUR telpa. The residency apartment will be shared with 2-3 other visual artists.

Vara talismanu darbnīca: Senču ķermenis

Ziemas saulgriežos, 21. decembrī, plkst. 11.00-15.00 aicinām uz vara talismanu darbnīcu Ellas Ruicēnas vadībā!

Ziemas saulgrieži ir īpašs laiks, kas tradicionāli veltīts pārdomām un jaunu ieceru veidošanai. Šajā darbnīcā būs iespēja iepazīt talismanu veidošanas procesu - darināsim unikālus vara priekšmetus, kas var kalpot kā personīgi simboli vai atbalsts ikdienā. Darbnīca norisināsies ISSP Galerijā saistībā ar Annas Maskavas izstādi “Ancestral Body / Senču ķermenis”. 

Open Call: FUTURES Baltic Talents 2025

ISSP invites artists from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia working within the medium of photography to apply to become a part of FUTURES, the prestigious European-based photography platform dedicated to supporting emerging talents in photography. Three artists from the three Baltic countries will be selected to join the platform in 2025. 

The FUTURES platform pools together the experience of leading photography institutions across Europe in order to increase the capacity, mobility and visibility of its selected artists.

ISSP ielūdz uz Plānotāja 2025 prezentācijas vakaru ”Metamorfozes”

Turpinot tradīciju, arī šogad ISSP ir izdevis ikgadējo plānotāju, kurā iekļautas 40 Latvijas un ārzemju mākslinieku autorfotogrāfijas. Šī gada tēma ir “Metamorfoze” - spēcīgs transformācijas un attīstības simbols.

Ceturtdien, 12. decembrī plkst. 19.00 ISSP telpās, par godu ISSP plānotāja 2025 izdošanai norisināsies prezentācijas vakars, kurā Ziemassvētku noskaņā un radošā atmosfērā satiksies plānotāja autori, ISSP domubiedri un citi interesenti.

Decmebrī norisināsies Mazā mākslas mese

Ielūdzam uz Mazās mākslas meses atklāšanu topošās “Radošās rūpnīcas Veldze” teritorijā Matīsa ielā 8, piektdien, 6. decembrī no pulksten 16:00 līdz 20:00!

Mazās mākslas meses ietvaros (laikā no 6. - 8. decembrim) četras galerijas – galerija “ASNI”, 427 galerija, ISSP galerija un arterritory.com galerija-klejotāja energART – piedāvās apskatīt un iegādāties mākslas darbus.

FUTURES photography platform has received further funding from the European Commission

We would like to share some great news - the FUTURES Photography platform has received further funding from the European Commission and will continue its collaborative work in 2025 - 2028! Thanks to support from Creative Europe, FUTURES will continue to promote the careers of emerging talents in contemporary photography around Europe and have a greater impact on the art world. 

Anna Maskava: Ancestral Body / Senču ķermenis

No 31. oktobra līdz 31. janvārim ISSP Galerijā būs skatāma Annas Maskavas izstāde “Ancestral Body / Senču ķermenis”, kurā māksliniece aktualizē sievietes pieredzes ievainojamības, trausluma un atmiņu pārmantojamības aspektus.
