His fluid and unconventional work has been sought by numerous publications stretching across widely differing interests. From shooting Mongolia’s street children to a portrait session with David Bowie, his ability to see through and into his subjects has made his pictures into uncensored visions, documenting the time in which he lives.

Norfolk’s work has been widely recognized internationally, and he has been described by critics as “the leading documentary photographer of our time”.
Simon will talk about his project in Afghanistan in parallel with the forgotten Irish war photographer John Burke who followed the British into Afghanistan in 1878, raising the subject of imperialist arrogance which many will find very relevant today.
