2013. gada plānotāja prezentācija. ISSP is releasing the new 2013 weekly Planner!

Dārgie draugi! Priecājamies, ka ilgi lolotā ideja īstenojusies un ISSP katalogs ir pārtapis par skaistu iknedēļas dizaina Plānotāju, kurš iznāk pateicoties partnerībai ar Kuldīgas domi un Latvijas Mākslas akadēmiju.

Aicinām uz jauna izdevuma prezentāciju 14.novembrī plkst 19:00 Birojnīcā (Berga bazārs, ieeva no Dzirnavu ielas)! 

Iknedēļas Plānotājs 2013.gadam ar ISSP 2012 dalībnieku fotogrāfijām ir jauns dizaina izdevums, kas turpinās ISSP katalogu tradīciju jaunā veidolā, padarot to par plašāk pieejamu un izmantojamu ikdienā. 53 gada nedēļas saturēs 53 oriģinālas ISSP dalībnieku fotogrāfijas, kas tika iekļautās ISSP 2012 noslēguma izstādē Kuldīgā šī gada augustā.

Jaunais Plānotājs ir tapis sadarbībā ar Kuldīgas Novada pašvaldību un Latvijas Mākslas akadēmiju, kas atbalsta jaunu un inovatīvu dizaina produktu tapšanu. Dizaina autori - ISSP ilggadīgie partneri Artis Briedis un Rūta Briede (LMA doktorantūras studente) no dizaina apvienības rabit!!

Prezentācijas laikā tiks rādītas ISSP 2012 noslēgumu darbu projekcijas, būs iespēja iegādāties plānotāju par zemāku cenu nekā veikalos (7Ls), un protams, būs vīns un sarunas! 

Sākot no šīs nedēļas plānotāju varēs iegādāties arī internetā (www.issp.lv), Latvijas Fotogrāfijas muzejā, un dažos dizaina un grāmatu veikalos.

We cordially invite you to the presentation of our new 2013 Weekly Planner, featuring the work of ISSP 2012 participants!

The Planner has been created in cooperation with the Kuldiga District Council and the Art Academy of Latvia, and designed by long-term partners of ISSP Artis Briedis and Rūta Briede, or design company rabit!! The 53 weekly openings will contain original works of ISSP 2012 participants, that were taking part in the ISSP 2012 final works exhibition in Kuldīga this August.

Join us on Wednesday 4 November for a Release of the Planner, projections of ISSP 2012 Final Works, and a glass of wine!

From this week, the Planner will also be available for purchase on www.issp.lv, as well as at a number of design bookstores in Riga.

ISSP 2011 participants selected

Good morning! The process of careful ISSP participants selection is now completed, and the list of the 60 photographers who will be offered places in Workshops 1-5 is online! Together with the Borderlines workshop, ISSP 2011 will host 72 photographers from 24 countries of the world. The list will be adjusted pending participants confirmations. We will inform all the applicants by email shortly.

Public lecture "The Photography of National Geographic Magazine"

An opportunity to learn about the photography of the National Geographic Magazine directly from its chief staff experts - Senior photo-editor Sarah Leen and Creative director Bill Marr. The lecture - presentation is open for all interested. 30 May 2011, at 19:00 at kim?

Update Applications

Ok the ISSP applications desk is now officially closed! It looks really exciting!! 163 applications from 35 countries of the world, finally South America is on ISSP map!! :) 
The results of the selection process will be available by the beginning of June.

More good news: the applications for the International Summer School of Photography 2011 are open! The complete information on ISSP 2011 is now online and we are looking forward to receiving your incoming applications. Deadline - 8th of May 2011!

ISSP is moving to Kuldīga

Now, this is not a 1st April joke, its official: the ISSP international summer school is moving to Kuldīga! Though it all happened a little suddenly, we are happy with the new situation. The new location, Pelči boarding school, is 4 km away from town, so we’ll keep all the intimacy of the campus. Kuldīga is a gem and a runner up UNESCO world heritage site, it will for sure charm everyone.
Besides, we will have a real castle all for ourselves - imagine ! :)

Many, many things in process. By the end of the month, we will be ready to announce the applications for Summer School 2011. You can already find some information about 2011 workshops and teachers here. We will also have a brand - new website, and more exciting news coming up soon!

Aktuāli: ISSP BW lab

ISSP invites all interested in Black and White analogue process and looking for lab facilities to become 2011 members of our BW Lab in Andrejsala (Riga). Lab members can use fully equipped ISSP BW lab for a year - pretty much without any time limits. Full info in Latvian below. For more info, please call Arnis :)

ISSP 2011 - dates

Hallo everyone! The dates for International Summer School of Photography 2011 are 6 - 14 August, and we plan to announce the applications as usual around end March - beginning of April. Stay tuned!

ISSP Exhibition “Reference point” in Riga

A short video-documentation of ISSP 2010 exhibition “Reference Point” currently on show at Goethe Institute in Riga is available on vimeo! For those who still have not seen it, the exhibition  will be on show till January 30.

And, btw, as of January 2011 the ISSP 2010 catalogues and the complete collection of 2006 - 2010 catalogues can be purchased at the Latvian Museum of Photography (you can also take a look at them for free at kim? reading room, Satori, META cafe, Istaba and couple of other places).
