Meistardarbnīcu ar Sāru Līnu un Billu Marru (žurnāls National Geographic)
DOKUMENTĀLĀ FOTO-ESEJA: STĀSTI NO KULDĪGAS
3 dienas | 2011. gada 26. – 29. maijs | Kuldīgā
Trīs dienas meistardarbnīcas dalībnieki strādās kopā ar žurnāla National Geographic galveno foto-redaktori Sāru Līnu un radošo direktoru Billu Marru. Meistardarbnīcas mērķis ir attīstīt vizuālās stāstīšanas un fotogrāfiju atlases iemaņas. Darbnīcā katrs dalībnieks radīs kvalitatīvu dokumentālu foto-eseju – stāstu no darbnīcas pilsētas Kuldīgas. 15 stāsti tiks apvienoti vizuālā prezentācijā “Stāsti no Kuldīgas”.
Meistardarbnīca ir paredzēta jauniem fotogrāfiem (vecumā no 18-28 gadiem), kuri strādā fotožurnalistikas žanrā. Aicināti pieteikties talantīgi jaunie fotogrāfi no visām Latvijas pilsētām. 15 dalībniekus atlasīs pēc iesniegtajām motivācijas vēstulēm un foto-stāstiem. Dalība, dzīvošana un ēdināšana darbnīcas laikā ir bez maksas.
Lai pieteiktos, jāatsūta uz office@issp.lv:
- aizpildītu pieteikuma formu (pieejama šajā mājaslapā) un motivācijas vēstuli (līdz 500 vārdiem, vēlams angļu valodā bet var arī latviešu),
- foto-stāstu / reportāžu, kuros attēloti cilvēki un vide (6-12 bildes, jpg, max izmērs 300kb katra).
Pieteikšanas termiņš: 2011. gada 6. maijs, plkst. 24:00. Meistardarbnīcai izvēlētos dalībniekus informēs līdz 10. maijam.
2011. gada 30 .maijā, plkst. 19:00 meistardarbnīcas rezultāti tiks izrādīti laikmetīgās mākslas centrā kim? Saras Līnas un Billa Marra publiskās prezentācijas “The Photography of National Geographic Magazine" ietvaros. 30. maijā plkst. 14:00 – 17:00 abi eksperti piedalīsies portfolio skatē kim? Meistardarbnīca tiek rīkota sadarbībā ar ASV vēstniecību un Kuldīgas novada pašvaldību ASV kultūras pavasara “Made in the USA” ietvaros. Atbalstītāji: ASV vēstniecība, Kuldīgas novada pašvaldība, viesnīca “Metropole” un NVO “Watchmanshouse” Kuldīgā.
Dear all, the ISSP 2013 application process is successfully closed - we have received 254 applications from over 40 countries, thank you all! The ISSP International Jury - photographers Alnis Stakle (LV) and Alexander Gronsky (RU/LV), and Chief Editor of GUP Magazine Erik Vroons (NL) - start to work this week. The results of the selection process will be known by the end of May.

We are pleased to invite applications for the masterclass by Jan Grarup "Keep it simple: the Essence of Photojournalism" on 24-26 May 2013. A photojournalist with over 20 years experience from the world's gravest conflict zones, Jan won his eighth World Press Photo award this year and will be in Riga as part of the World Press Photo exhibition education programme. Applications accepted till 10th May!
Happy New year everyone! We are glad to inform that ISSP 2013 will take place on 3-11 August in Kuldīga. The call for applications will be open from the end of March until the beginning of May 2013. More information to come, stay tuned!
For those of you who've been working on a project for a while, dreaming to someday turn it into a book: we invite applications for a 4-day workshop with Norwegian photographer and book publisher Morten Andersen "Editing a Project into a Book" - on 21-24 October in Riga. Application deadline: 27th September.
