Trešdien, 25. martā, plkst. 18.30 tiešsaistē notiks tikšanās ar šībrīža ISSP Rīgas rezidences māksliniekiem – fotogrāfiem Alanu Haku (Alan Huck, ASV) un Titusu Šabelski (Tytus Szabelski, Polija). Interesentiem būs iespēja uzzināt par viņu līdzšinējo radošo darbību, kā arī par Rīgā topošajiem projektiem. Ieeja bez maksas, pasākums notiks angļu valodā.
On Wednesday, March 25 at 6.30 PM an online meeting with ISSP Riga Residency artists Alan Huck (USA) and Tytus Szabelski (Poland) will take place. The attendees will have a chance to hear about their previous work, as well as projects they were about to develop in Riga. Free entrance, the event will take place in English.

Alans Haks (1990) – fotogrāfs un rakstnieks no ASV dienvidaustrumiem, kurš radošajā praksē pievēršas attēla un teksta attiecībām un savos esejiskajos darbos tiecas atspoguļot pašu radīšanas procesu. Viņš ir ieguvis mākslas maģistra grādu Hārtfordas Mākslas skolā, un viņa debijas grāmata “I walk toward the sun which is always going down” 2019. gada septembrī nākusi klajā izdevniecībā MACK. Fragments no viņa pašreizējā teksta projekta “The Mute Testimony” šogad tiks publicēts antoloģijā “Reading Room”, ko izdos “Dispersed Holdings”.
Tituss Šabelskis (1991) – poļu fotogrāfs, mākslinieks un kurators. Studējis žurnālistiku un komunikācijas, šobrīd turpina fotogrāfijas studijas doktorantūrā Poznaņas Mākslas universitātē. Tituss sadarbojies vairākām mākslas institūcijām, tostarp ar Toruņas Laikmetīgās mākslas centru, žurnālu “Krytyka Polityczna” (“Politiskā Kritika”), viņš ir zinātniskā mākslas izdevuma “Postmedium” redaktors un viens no fotogrāfijas platformas PARALLEL - European Photo Based Platform kuratoriem. Saņēmis vairākus apbalvojumus un stipendijas gan Polijas, gan starptautiskā mērogā.

Alan Huck (1990) is a photographer and writer based in the southeastern United States. His practice is mainly concerned with using various image-text strategies and with essayistic works that reflect back upon the activity of making. He received his MFA from the Hartford Art School and his first book, “I walk toward the sun which is always going down”, was published by MACK in September of 2019. An excerpt from his ongoing text project, “The Mute Testimony”, will appear in the anthology Reading Room, published by Dispersed Holdings, later this year.
Tytus Szabelski (1991) is a photographer and visual artist from Poland. He studied journalism and social communication and is now is conducting doctoral studies at the Faculty of Photography of the University of Art in Poznań. He has worked with Center of Contemporary Art in Toruń, Miłość Gallery in Toruń and “Krytyka Polityczna” (“Political Critique”) magazine. Tytus has received numerous awards and scholarships, both local and international. He is one of the selected emerging curators in the Parallel programme and editor of “Postmedium” art academic journal.

Traditionally, the ISSP evening programme will be open to all photography lovers - free of charge! Every evening starting from Sunday, 4 August, till Friday, 9 August, we will offer a series of fascinating presentations and artist talks by ISSP masters, participants and invited guests at the ISSP campus in Pelči /Kuldīga. On Saturday, the 10th, everyone is invited to the opening of the exhibition of ISSP final works at the Kuldiga Arts Hall and the screening of participants' works at Kuldīga open air cinema.

The World Press Photo exhibition will finally visit Riga from 14 May till 2 June, hosted by ISSP in cooperation with NGO Ascendum.
