Announcing the ISSP International Masterclass

Commencing in March 2015, the ISSP International Masterclass is a year long practice-based education and networking programme designed for emerging photographers. During a one year period, 24 participants will develop conceptually strong artistic and documentary projects under the guidance of experienced photography tutors. The masterclass offers three workshop sessions - two in Latvia and one in Portugal - with online feedback in between. Two thematic classes will run in parallel every year, with some of the best masters of our 10-year long ISSP experience.

The Masterclass is the next step in a serious career in photography, providing regular mentoring, networking opportunities and international exposure to the participants.

The programme builds on our experience running the International Summer School of Photography in Latvia since 2006, as well as the international projects European Borderlines and Middle Town.

The group will be truly international, following best ISSP traditions. Photographers from Latvia, Europe and further locations who have some experience in pursuing extended photographic projects and wish to take their work to the next level are invited to apply!

ISSP 2008 Post Mortem

Uff, its over now… Alas, all the great things come to an end… but only to give way to new beginnings. With all due self-criticism (particularly towards the technicalities of the digital lab), we have to admit that the event was next to perfect! A quick glance at the participants evaluation forms - over 4/5 of the students rated their ISSP experience as ‘excellent’… More feedback in quotes:
