We are happy to announce the five artists we invited to join the FUTURES platform this year – Agate Tūna (LV), Gedvile Tamosiunaite (LT), Katya Lesiv (UA), Klaus Leo Richter (AT/LT), Ruudu Ulas (EE). Their projects mirror the concerns and reflections of a context of wars and the rise of digital realities. We believe these five artists will contribute to the FUTURES artistic community with the diversity of their approaches, demonstrating the role of the artist in a changing and challenging world.

No 15. marta līdz 9. maijam ISSP Galerijā būs skatāma Rūtas Kalmukas izstāde “Saiknes”, kurā māksliniece pievēršas savas ģimenes un māju dokumentēšanai, atklājot sievietes daudzveidīgās lomas un identitātes. Izstādes atklāšana notiks 14. martā plkst. 18.00. Laipni lūgti!

From 15 March to 9 May, the ISSP Gallery will host Rūta Kalmuka's exhibition Interconnections, in which the artist documents her family and home, revealing the multiple roles and identities of women. The exhibition will open on 14 March at 6 PM. Welcome!

Trešdien, 14. februārī, plkst. 18.30 notiks tikšanās ar izstādes "Esmu redzams šajā attēlā, un man tas nepatīk" mākslinieci Santu Franci. Māksliniece iepazīstinās ar savu radošo darbību, iedvesmas avotiem un pieredzi Latvijas mākslas telpā. Savukārt 15. februārī plkst. 18.00 aicinām uz izstādes tūri, kurā būs iespēja mākslinieces vadībā apmeklēt izstādi un uzzināt par tās tapšanas procesu. Ieeja abos pasākumos bez maksas.

A new open call for residencies between March and August 2024 is now open! The ISSP Riga Residency provides an opportunity for concentrated work on a personal research or art project or much needed time to rethink and complete ongoing work. We welcome photographers and artists interested in exploring the local social and cultural context and connecting to ISSP platform of activities.

Meklējam kolēģi! No 1. marta aicinām pievienoties ISSP komandai KOMUNIKĀCIJAS SPECIĀLISTU/-I (pilna slodze). Komunikācijas speciālists plāno un īsteno aktuālās ISSP pasākumu un projektu komunikācijas, ieskaitot ISSP Galerijas, ISSP Skolas izglītības programmas (isspskola.lv), ISSP Rezidenču programmas un citu ISSP vietējo un starptautisko projektu un aktivitāšu komunikācijas. Pieteikumus gaidīsim līdz 3. februārim.

Santas Frances izstādei "Esmu redzams šajā attēlā, un man tas nepatīk" veidotā darba lapa palīdzēs sākumskolas un pamatskolas skolēniem izzināt izstādi un izprast tās konceptus, analizējot mākslas darbus un veidojot savu vāzes interpretāciju. Darba lapu var aizpildīt jebkurā izstādes apmeklējuma laikā! Visi nepieciešamie materiāli ir nodrošināti.

Ziemas-pavasara semestrī ISSP Skola aicina apgūt fotogrāfiskās domāšanas pamatus un kameras tehniskās iespējas intensīvā divu mēnešu kursā “Ievads fotogrāfijā” – šobrīd atvērta pieteikšanās gan tiešsaistes, gan klātienes grupām. Kurss notiek jau ceturto gadu un to vada pieredzējuši pasniedzēji un fotogrāfi Kristīne Krauze-Slucka, Kristīne Madjare un Ingus Bajārs. Tiešsaistes kursa sākums jau 29. janvārī, bet klātienes kurss sāksies 4. aprīlī.

ISSP invites artists from the Baltics and Ukraine working within the medium of photography to apply to become a part of FUTURES, the prestigious European-based photography platform dedicated to supporting emerging talents in photography. 5 artists will be selected to join the platform in 2024. The FUTURES platform pools together the experience of leading photography institutions across Europe in order to increase the capacity, mobility and visibility of its selected artists. Application deadline: 21 January.
