Trešdien, 28. novembrī plkst. 18:30 ISSP telpā notiks ISSP Rīgas Rezidences mākslinieka Keneta Bamberga (Somija) autorvakars.
Mākslinieks šobrīd uzturas Rīgā, kur ISSP Rīgas Rezidences ietvaros strādā pie jauna projekta. Publiskajā prezentācijā viņš iepazīstinās ar saviem līdzšinējiem un šībrīža projektiem, rosinot diskusiju par darbos attēlotajām tēmām un savu individuālo pieeju fotogrāfijas medijam.
Kenets Bambergs (dzimis 1981. gadā, Ālandu salās) 2011. gadā absolvējis Alto universitāti Helsinkos, iegūstot maģistra grādu mākslā. Viņa darbi tikuši plaši izstādīti solo un grupas izstādēs Somijā un ārzemēs, kā piemēram, Somu Kultūras Institūtā Madridē un VU Galerijā Kvebekā. Mākslinieks ir piedalījies grupu izstādēs Nacionālajā Vēstures muzejā Kopenhāgenā un Fotogrāfijas muzejā Winterthur Cīrihē. Saņēmis dažādus augsta ranga apbalvojumus un stipendijas.

ISSP is happy to host an artist talk by ISSP Riga Residency artist Kenneth Bamberg on Wednesday 28th of November 6:30PM.
The artist is currently developing new work as a part of the ISSP Riga Residency programme. The public presentation will introduce with the photographer's former and current projects, encouraging a discussion about the topics represented in his work as well as his working methods and individual approach to photography.
Kenneth Bamberg (born 1981 in Åland Islands) graduated with a Master of Arts from Aalto University in Helsinki in 2011. He has exhibited extensively in solo and group exhibitions in Finland and abroad. Bamberg has held solo shows in The Finnish Cultural Institute in Madrid and at Gallery VU in Quebec City. He has participated in group shows in The Museum of National History in Copenhagen as well as in The Photography Museum Winterthur in Zurich. He has received numerous esteemed awards and grants.

In framework of US culture month in Riga “Made in USA“, we are pleased to invite applications to an ISSP-runworkshop Aesthetics of nostalgia by a great photographer, editor, writer and curator Aaron Shuman. The workshop shall take place on 17-18 April 2010, at kim? Riga.

The exhibition will feature a selection of most vivid works (5 per workshop), to be selected by ISSP teachers. We also very much hope to present the ISSP 2010 Catalogue!

We have launched a new activity - a series of ISSP club meetings in Riga! The club evenings will take place with an approximate regularity of every second week. In the programme: ISSP participants’ presentation of completed or ongoing projects, invited artists’ talks, and a special selection of photography-related movies. The main motivation is to keep up the contacts and networking among the ISSP participants.
