After a year-long creative break, the International Summer School of Photography (ISSP) is back with some fresh shifts in the programme! Alongside four workshops with some of the cutting edge voices in contemporary photography, we are very pleased to introduce our first ever workshop for PHOTOGRAPHY CURATORS as well as the ISSP RESIDENCY - an opportunity for individuals to work on their projects at their own pace using all the input the ISSP Campus can provide. We are excited to be back ……

ISSP 2018 took place from 28 July – 5 August 2018, featuring workshops by Jason Fulford, Lisa Barnard, Salvatore Vitale & Protick Sarker, Yumi Goto & Jan Rosseel, Natasha Christia, as well as a new on-campus ISSP Residency. 

ISSP 2015 applications are open!

We are delighted to announce the Call for Applications for the ISSP 2015, the 10th anniversary edition of the ISSP! This August in Kuldīga - storytelling and collage with Jim Goldberg, landscape with Alexander Gronsky, narrative portraiture with Alessandra Sanguinetti, nature stories with Anna Fox, photobook making with Akina Books and Nico Baumgarten and camera obscura experiments with Takashi Homma! Don't miss it - the deadline fo applications is 20 April!

ISSP 2014 final exhibition

We cordially invite all photography lovers to explore the results of the ISSP 2014 at the final Exhibition in Kuldīga! The group show of ISSP participants' works will be on display until September 14 in Kuldīga Arts hall. Opening: Saturday, 9 August, 7pm - welcome!

ISSP 2014 - evening programme

Traditionally, the ISSP will offer a series of fascinating evening presentations and talks by the masters and participants at the ISSP campus in Pelči, Kuldīga district from Sunday August 3 until Saturday August 9. The evening programme is free of charge - all photography lovers are welcome!

ISSP laikā notiks foto-darbnīca Pelču jauniešiem

ISSP vasaras skolas laikā Pelču internātskolā notiks fotogrāfijas darbnīca Pelču jauniešiem "Mans Stāsts". Darbnīca tiks integrēta ISSP pasākumā un tās dalībnieki apgūs fotogrāfijas pamatus, mācoties izteikties par sevi un pasauli ar attēlu palīdzību, radot personiskos foto stāstus. Darbnīcas rezultāti tiks izstādīti ISSP gala izstādē Kuldīgas Mākslas namā.

ISSP 2014 participants announced

The list of selected ISSP 2014 participants is online - a fascinating group of 73 from 28 countries! Congratulations!! The list is pending participants' confirmations, there are many more qualified candidates in the waiting list. We will contact everyone by email in the coming days. Looking forward for amazing August!

ISSP applications closed

The applications for the ISSP 2014 are closed. We received over 200 applications from around 40 countries. The evaluation committee for this year are photographer Alnis Stakle (LV), Editor of FK Magazine Arnis Balčus (LV), Editor of GUP Magazine Erik Vroons (NL) and director of PhotoIreland festival Angel Luis Gonzalez Fernandez (IE). Selection results will be known in the beginning of June!
